Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], August 5 (ANI): Rajasthan Minister Joraram Kumawat slammed Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on his 'dead economy' remark, saying that they (Congress) think only about the neighbouring country and how strong it should be.
While speaking to ANI on Rahul Gandhi's 'dead economy' remark, Cabinet Minister Kumawat on Monday said, "We are nationalist people and think about the nation, but they think about the neighbouring country, so their thoughts and ours are different. We think about our country, how strong our country should be, and how India's development should happen. Our party's thinking is that India should become self-reliant, India's security should be ensured, and how we can move forward with India's perspective. They think about how strong Pakistan should be...".
The remarks came after Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Thursday agreed with US President Donald Trump's statement that the Indian economy is "dead" and said he is "glad" that the US President has stated a fact. Speaking to reporters, Rahul Gandhi said that the whole world knows the Indian economy is "dead" except for the Prime Minister and Finance Minister.
On Monday, the Supreme Court pulled up Rahul Gandhi over his alleged remarks on the Indian Army after a clash between the Indian and Chinese armies in the Yangsi region of Arunachal Pradesh in 2022. A bench of Justices Dipankar Datta and Augustine George Masih expressed disapproval of Gandhi's remarks, asking how he knew the Chinese occupied 2000 square kilometres of land and said that a true Indian wouldn't say such a thing.
The BJP welcomed the top court's remark, stating that the Congress leader must refrain from making such "irresponsible" comments. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Kangana Ranaut alleged that Rahul Gandhi, has an "anti-India mindset" and speaks in favour of enemy nations.
On SC pulling up Rahul Gandhi over his alleged remarks on Indian Army, Ranaut told ANI, "Rahul Gandhi always speaks against India, be it on economy or defence forces. He speaks in support of enemy nations. He has an anti-India mindset. So, this is a welcome move by the Supreme Court that they pulled him up. In the time to come, others should be mindful that they do not hurt the honour, integrity and morale of India."
Rahul Gandhi had earlier allegedly claimed that China had captured 2,000 square kilometres of Indian territory. (ANI)
