New Delhi [India], January 16 (ANI): Questioning the intention of the Aam Aadmi Party's decision to conduct Sundar Kand Path--a segment of the Hindu epic of Ramayana--in all Vidhan Sabha constituencies of Delhi, Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Tuesday accused AAP of "giving nothing" to the Hindu priests in Delhi.
The Union Minister alleged that AAP leaders do not do what they preach.
"Before they came into politics, they used to say that they would give a corruption-free government. They gave nothing to the priests in Delhi and held nothing back in giving to everyone else," Anurag Thakur told ANI.
He also attacked the Delhi ruling party for the corruption charges against their leaders. He pointed out the arrests of former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, and AAP MP Sanjay Singh in the Delhi excise policy case.
"Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal got ED summons (in Delhi excise policy case) four times but did not comply," he said.
Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said on Monday that Sunder Kand will be recited in all Vidhan Sabha constituencies of Delhi on the first Tuesday of every month.
Speaking about holding the 'Sundarkand path' at the Delhi assembly, minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said, "Earlier, the Sunder Kand Path has been organised by party leaders and workers. But now it has been decided to do it every month in a structured manner. Tomorrow is Tuesday, and from tomorrow, it will be organised in all Vidhan Sabha constituencies of Delhi... We invite the general public also to it..."
He further said that Sunder Kand Path and Hanuman Chalisa would be organized at around 2,600 places soon.
"We invite the general public also to it... Soon, at around 2600 places, Sunder Kand Path and Hanuman Chalisa would be organised... No one can question Ram's name and devotion to Hanuman... We have no questions about the Ram Temple... The construction of Ram Temple is a matter of joy and pride for us..." he added.
Preparations are underway in full swing for the event, which is expected to be attended by thousands of dignitaries and people from all sections of society.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to attend the Pran Pratishta ceremony of the Ram Temple on January 22.
The formal procedures of pre-Praan Pratishtha sacraments have got underway on Tuesday and will continue till January 21.
