New Delhi [India], September 23 (ANI): Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh slammed Aam Aadmi Party leader Saurabh Bharadwaj on Tuesday over his remarks on people falling ill after eating buckwheat flour, asking him to explain what his government had done in the 11 years it was in power, apart from forcing Delhi's people to live in filth.
The Minister informed that the matter is being investigated and urged against politicising the issue.
"The issue of falling ill from eating buckwheat flour is being investigated. Saurabh Bharadwaj (AAP leader) should explain what your government has done in 11 years, apart from forcing Delhi's people to live in filth; it is taking us time to fix that. Whatever has happened should be investigated... there should be no politics on this," he said.
Earlier today, information was received at the Jahangirpuri police station regarding people experiencing uneasiness after consuming Kuttu Atta (buckwheat flour), according to the Delhi Police.
Upon enquiry at BJRM Hospital, Dr Vishesh Yadav, CMO, informed that around 150-200 people from Jahangirpuri, Mahendra Park, Samaypur, Bhalswa Dairy, Lal Bagh, and Swaroop Nagar had visited the Emergency Ward with complaints of vomiting.
Afterwards, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bharadwaj raised concerns over hundreds of people falling ill after consuming adulterated Kuttu Atta (buckwheat flour) in the national capital.
Bharadwaj criticised the government and said adulteration is affecting even the food consumed during Navratri, while authorities remain distracted.
In a post on X, Saurabh Bharadwaj wrote, "Hundreds of people fell ill after consuming adulterated kuttu ka atta in Delhi. Reports indicate that hundreds of people have been admitted to Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital. Some patients also arrived at the hospital in Burari."
"Think about it: even in the food of fasting people considered pure during Navratri, adulteration is taking place. And the four-engine government is engrossed in playing dandiya," the post read. (ANI)
