"There is anti-DMK wave in entire Tamil Nadu," says AIADMK candidate from South Chennai

"If we talk about my constituency, there is a rousing response from the people. People are extremely angry at the present DMK government. So wherever I go, there is a huge response from the people and they are showing thumbs up that you will win. So in the entire Tamil Nadu, there is an anti-DMK wave. So DMK will lose not only from my constituency but in all places, along with its allies and partners," Jayavardhan said.

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], April 17 (ANI): Ahead of the Lok Sabha election 2024, J Jayavardhan, the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) candidate contesting from the South Chennai constituency, said on Wednesday that there is an "anti-DMK" wave across Tamil Nadu.
While talking to ANI during his final day of campaigning in the MRC Nagar area of South Chennai, Jayavardhan highlighted the dissatisfaction among voters towards the incumbent DMK government.
Accompanied by former Tamil Nadu minister Gokula Indira and former Velachery MLA Ashok, Jayavardhan rallied alongside supporters from AIADMK, DMDK, SDPI, and other allied parties.
Bharatiya Janata Party South Chennai candidate Tamilisai Soundararajan is contesting against DMK's incumbent MP Thamizhachi Thangapandian and AIADMK's J Jayavardhan, who won in 2014 but lost to Thamizhachi in 2019.
In the 2019 elections, the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance secured an overwhelming victory, winning 38 out of 39 seats.
All 39 seats in Tamil Nadu will vote in a single phase on April 19 and the counting of votes will be held on June 4. Tamil Nadu ranks fifth in terms of Lok Sabha seats, with 39 seats, including 32 unreserved seats and seven reserved for SC candidates.
The election for 543 Lok Sabha seats in the country will be held in seven phases starting April 19. (ANI)
