"The success of Delhi is a historic achievement": Pawan Kalyan

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan spoke to the media after attending the swearing-in ceremony of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta at the Ramlila Maidan. New Delhi [India], February 20 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan spoke to the media after attending the swearing-in ceremony of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta at the Ramlila Maidan. Kalyan stated that the success of Delhi after a gap of 27 years is a historic achievement and congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the new Delhi CM Rekha Gupta.

"It is not just about the strength of the NDA but also about strengthening the nation through NDA under the leadership of PM Modi... The success of Delhi is a historic achievement after 27 years... All the best to PM Modi and the Delhi CM," he said.

Earlier, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu emphasized that a new era has started in the national capital, and excellent development will take place.

Speaking to ANI, CM Naidu emphasized that every citizen of the country would take pride in the developments that will unfold in the capital.

"We are going to see a new change in Delhi, and also, it will be a different Delhi from now...It (tenure) will not only be smooth but there will be extraordinary performance. Every citizen of this country will be proud of it...We are very happy; now new era has started in Delhi. Excellent development is going to take place," the Andhra Pradesh CM said.

On Thursday, BJP Delhi legislative party leader Rekha Gupta took oath as the ninth Chief Minister of Delhi. Rekha's oath-taking ceremony was attended by several NDA Chief Ministers and leaders including big names such as Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, Nayab Singh Saini, Keshav Prasad Maurya, Brajesh Pathak, Devendra Fadnavis and others.

Along with Rekha Gupta, Parvesh Verma, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ravinder Indraj Singh, Kapil Mishra and Pankaj Kumar Singh took oath as cabinet ministers of Delhi at the Ramlila Maidan on Thursday.

Rekha Gupta is the fourth woman Chief Minister of Delhi after Atishi Marlena, Sheila Dikshit and Sushma Swaraj. Gupta defeated Aam Aadmi Party's Bandana Kumari by a margin of 29,595 votes in the Delhi Legislative Assembly 2025 elections.

The Bharatiya Janata Party ended up achieving a historic win in the 2025 Delhi Legislative Elections with 48 seats out of 70 whereas Aam Aadmi Party was dethroned from power as they were reduced to 22 seats from 62. (ANI)
