Thane: Man slaps Ramdas Athawale, detained

The Union Minister raised questions about how Ajit Dada's flight operated despite restrictions.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Saturday placed farmers at the government's defence of the India-US interim trade agreement, declaring the day would be "etched on golden letters" in India's economic history. The Congress led a fierce counter-offensive, with Party media department chairman Pawan Khera calling the framework a "humiliating failure," alleging that India had opened its agricultural market under American pressure and halted imports of Russian oil.

Union Minister Ramdas Athawale on Saturday welcomed the India-US interim trade agreement, saying the framework would strengthen bilateral trade ties and benefit key sectors, including agriculture, while dismissing concerns being raised about its impact on farmers.

Speaking to reporters outside the Parliament premises, Singh said, "This is unfortunate. This is the first time such a ruckus has been created during the President's address. They are behaving like children."
