Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], October 29 (ANI): Three government officers were arrested in Hyderabad and Bhadradri Kothagudem on Tuesday for allegedly accepting bribes, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) said.
The first officer, Sri Venkoba, an Assistant Executive Engineer from Circle XI, GHMC, Rajendra Nagar, Hyderabad, was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 50000 from the complainant. This payment was made in exchange for an official favour, specifically to record measurements in the M Book for work completed by the complainant, officials said.
The tainted bribe amount was recovered from Venkoba's possession, and a chemical test confirmed the presence of bribe-related substances on his fingertips. He was arrested and produced before the Additional Special Judge for SPE and Anti-Corruption Bureau Cases in Hyderabad.
In a separate incident in Bhadradri Kothagudem, two officers, Sri Syed Khaleelullah, an Administrative Officer, and Sri Damalla Sudhakar, a Junior Assistant at the Government Medical College, were apprehended by the ACB's Khammam Unit.
They demanded a bribe of Rs 7 lakh and accepted an initial payment of Rs 3 lakh from the complainant in exchange for preparing salary bills for outsourcing employees and reinstating 23 outsourcing employees previously removed from the Government Medical College, the ACB said.
The bribe amount was recovered from Khaleelullah's office table, and a chemical test confirmed the presence of bribe-related substances on his right-hand fingers. Both Khaleelullah and Sudhakar were arrested and presented before the Special Court for SPE & ACB cases cum III Additional District and Sessions Judge in Warangal. Both cases are currently under investigation, the ACB added in its release. (ANI)
