Telangana polls: CM Naidu urges electorates to exercise 'right to vote'

Amravati (Andhra Pradesh), [India] Dec 7 (ANI): With polling underway in Telangana to elect a new assembly, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday urged the electorates to exercise their 'right to vote'.
Stressing that every vote matters and one vote can make a difference, the Chief Minister took to Twitter and said, "Appealing to the citizens of Telangana to exercise their right to vote today. Remember that every vote counts and will make a difference. #TelanganaElections."
In Telangana, while polling in 13 naxal-affected constituencies will end at 4 pm, voting in the rest of the constituencies will culminate at 5 pm today.
A total of 1,821 candidates are in the fray, along with a few independents. The Malkajgiri constituency has the highest number of contestants (42) while Banswada has the least (6).
Out of a total 2,80,64,684 voters registered in the state's electoral roll, 1,41,56,182 are males while 1,39,05,811 are females.
44,415 ballot units, 7,557 reserve ballot units, 32,016 control units 4,432 reserve control units, 32,016 voter-verifiable paper audit trail (VVPATs), and 5,261 reserve VVPATs are being used for the polling.
In order to maintain law and order in the state, 32,815 polling stations in the state will be manned by five personnel and one or two constables on an average. About 10,000 polling stations have been identified as critical and extra forces will be deployed in these polling stations.
Results of the Assembly polls will be announced on December 11. (ANI)
