Telangana: Police arrest man for chain theft in Hyderabad

According to an official release, "The sleuths of Meerpet Police and Rachakonda Commissionerate nabbed the chain snatcher on Thursday and seized gold ornaments and a bike, altogether worth Rs 1.6 lakh."

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], June 21 (ANI): Acting on technical evidence and specific information, the police arrested a man on charges of snatching a woman's gold chain in the Hasthinapuram area of Hyderabad.
The accused was identified as Brahmaiah (23)
According to an official release, "The sleuths of Meerpet Police and Rachakonda Commissionerate nabbed the chain snatcher on Thursday and seized gold ornaments and a bike, altogether worth Rs 1.6 lakh."
Sharing details about the case, police said, "A complaint was received from a woman identified as Kumbham Padma on June 10, 2024, at 8:15 pm, wherein she complained that her chain was snatched by an unidentified person on the same day around 7 pm."
"As per the woman's complaint, she stated that while she was travelling to her house at Vishweshwarayya Colony on June 10, an unknown person on a bike suddenly arrived from the rear side and snatched the gold chain from her neck, after which she fell on the ground," said police.
Subsequently, the woman filed a complaint for action against the snatcher.
The police, after acting on technical evidence and specific information, nabbed the accused on June 20 and registered a case under the appropriate section of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
