Hyderabad (Telangana) [India] September 21 (ANI): Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) working president K T Rama Rao on Saturday made corruption allegations against Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for allegedly awarding a contract worth Rs 1,132 crore to his brother-in-law.
KTR said that a 'big scam' happened in Municipal Department and the CM Reddy did it through public health department by awarding the contract to his brother-in-law.
"In Municipal Department, a big scam happened of Rs 8868 crore through public health department by the CM. He passed the tender and gave work worth Rs 1,132 crores to his brother-in-law. He gave such a big contract to a company which has no technical experience for that," KTR said.
KTR said that the CM 'flouted' the rules by awarding the contract to his brother-in-law, Srujan Reddy.
"You swore not to profit any family through your office, but today you gave your brother -in-law, Srujan Reddy, such project and flouted with the rules," KTR said.
He futher demanded the Central Government to immediately start inquiry and take strict action against the CM.
"I request the central government, I have written to ML Khattar ji, the Urban Development Minister, to immediately start the inquiry and take action against the CM and all the responsible people," KTR said.
Earlier in his post on X, KTR said that every tender conducted by the Revanth Reddy led Congress government needs to be reviewed.
"I appeal to the Union Government to investigate & disclose the details of the companies that were awarded tenders under the AMRUT scheme Every tender conducted after the formation of the corrupt Congress government in Telangana should be reviewed, and if any irregularities are found, these tenders should be immediately canceled I demand that all information regarding these tenders be made available in the public domain. An inquiry should be conducted into the companies that won AMRUT tenders despite not having the requisite qualifications," he said in his post on X.
KTR further highlighted that this is not the first instance of alleged corruption, recalling a previous accusation of a Rs 1,000 crore scam involving the procurement of fine variety rice and paddy lifting in the state. (ANI)
