Telangana gets early monsoon onset, will get good rainfall compared to previous year

"The Monsoons have already hit Southern India from May 30 starting from Kerala. It is moving very fast towards Maharashtra. Telangana has received a good amount of rainfall in the last two days, said Sravani, Scientist C of Hyderabad Meteorological Centre.

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], June 6 (ANI): Telangana witnessed early monsoon and will have good rainfall compared to the previous year, informed the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre on Thursday.
"The Monsoons have already hit Southern India from May 30 starting from Kerala. It is moving very fast towards Maharashtra. Telangana has received a good amount of rainfall in the last two days, said Sravani, Scientist C of Hyderabad Meteorological Centre.
Sravani further said that the Southern belt of Telangana is receiving heavy rainfall in certain parts and 2-3 districts received more than 12 cm. Gadwal received 12 cm rainfall which is the highest rainfall recorded in the last 24 hours. The showers will be continuing for the next three days also.
"In the next 24 hours, there will be thunderstorm activity and gusty winds in the northern belts. There will be moderate showers in the rest of Telangana state continuously for three days. Hyderabad and GHMC limits will get a good amount of rainfall. Tomorrow, there will be light to moderate showers in and around GHMC limits and will continue for the next two days, she said.
"As compared to the previous year, the rainfall was very low in the last year, in the first part of June and the Monsoon onset was delayed. This year, we will get a good amount of rainfall in the entire monsoon and also in June month," she added. (ANI)
