Telangana: Former cricketer Azharuddin campaigns in Hyderabad, appeals to voters to ensure win for Congress

Speaking to ANI, Azharuddin said, "He is a beloved leader in the state. I hope people will cast their vote for him and support Congress because it works for development and fulfils the promises it makes, unlike BJP."

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], April 29 (ANI): Former cricketer and Congress leader Mohammad Azharuddin campaigned in support of the party's Secunderabad Lok Sabha candidate on Monday and urged voters to cast their franchise in favour of Congress, adding that the party works for development and fulfils its promises made to the public.
The Congress leader was campaigning in support of the party's Secunderabad Lok Sabha candidate Danam Nagender in Hyderabad.

Speaking to ANI at the campaign, Azharuddin said, "He is a beloved leader in the state. I hope people will cast their vote for him and support Congress because it works for development and fulfils the promises it makes, unlike BJP."

Congress Secunderabad Lok Sabha candidate Danam Nagender also spoke at the campaign rally and said, "I hope we will see historic results on June 4. People are going to give a befitting reply to the communal forces in the country. June 4 result will be to save the democracy."

Earlier on Sunday, Rajasthan Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Rajyavardhan Rathore held a roadshow in support of BJP candidate from Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency Madhavi Latha.
Hailing the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rathore said, "BJP has zero tolerance for corruption. The BJP and PM Modi are only for delivery. We do not tolerate terrorism or corruption.
It is noteworthy that the polling for 17 parliamentary constituencies in Telangana is scheduled to be held in the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections on May 13.
The counting for all seven phases of the Lok Sabha polls will be held on June 4, 2024.
In 2019, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) won nine seats in the state. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured four seats.
The Indian National Congress (INC) obtained three seats and the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) won one seat. (ANI)
