Telangana DGP announces strict measures against drugs

Telangana Director General of Police Jitender has directed the Anti-Narcotics Bureau officials to take strict action against the supply of drugs in the state, an official release stated on Thursday.

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], October 10 (ANI): Telangana Director General of Police Jitender has directed the Anti-Narcotics Bureau officials to take strict action against the supply of drugs in the state, an official release stated on Thursday.
DGP held a special meeting with officials from the Anti-Narcotics Bureau at the DGP's office on Thursday. Additional DGP (Law and Order) Mahesh M Bhagwat, Anti-Narcotics Bureau Director Sandeep Shandilya and several other police officials attended the meeting.
As per the release, during the meeting, the DGP emphasized that despite ongoing efforts to control the sale of drugs, stringent measures must be taken to curb the supply of narcotics across Telangana. DGP instructed the Anti-Narcotics Bureau to act decisively and intensify its operations against drug suppliers. DGP also announced that additional manpower would be deployed to support the bureau's efforts.
The DGP reiterated the government's goal of completely eradicating the sale and supply of drugs in the state and called for a strategic approach to achieve. DGP stressed that when suspects are apprehended, their entire network should be dismantled and brought to justice.
Furthermore, the DGP made it clear that any foreigners found to be involved in suspicious drug-related activities should face deportation, press release stated.
DGP also directed that bureau personnel be stationed near educational institutions and other suspicious locations to ensure a strict crackdown on drug-related activities.
Additional DGP for Law and Order, Mahesh M Bhagwat, stated that it is not only important to apprehend suspects but also to present sufficient evidence in court to ensure their conviction. He emphasized the need to completely control the supply of drugs in Telangana state
Anti-Narcotics Bureau Director Sandeep Shandilya expressed his satisfaction with the additional deployment of manpower and shared that the bureau has published training materials to aid in the prosecution of suspects. He reaffirmed the bureau's commitment to taking stringent action against drug offenders and indicated that more decisive measures would be implemented in the future. (ANI)
