Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], December 21 (ANI): Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced that the State Government of Telangana would introduce a new act in the Assembly to combat religious hatred and punish those who insult other religions.
The existing laws would also be amended to ensure stringent punishment for the offenders who abuse other religions, the Chief Minister declared, according to an official press release.
Participating in the Christmas celebrations at LB Stadium ( Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium) on Saturday, the Chief Minister emphasised that everyone should respect other religions while practising their own faith. The government already suppressed those who incite religious hatred and attacks. " We will bring a law in the Legislative Assembly to punish those who insult other religions. We will also amend the existing acts to punish those who abuse other faiths", he said.

CM Revanth Reddy affirmed his government will provide equal respect to all religions. He also said that minorities deserve access to all welfare scheme benefits and that it is their right. The CM assured that the pending graveyard issues of Christians and Muslims will be addressed soon.
Extending his "heartfelt" greetings to the Christian community on the eve of Christmas, the Chief Minister said that Jesus Christ emphasised the importance of service to humanity and spread the message of love and peace. He said, "Jesus Christ gave a strong message to humanity that we should love even those who hate us."
Coinciding with the birth of Jesus Christ, the CM said that the month of December was also a "Miracle Month" for Telangana and the Congress party. Sonia Gandhi was born, and Telangana's statehood was granted in December.

Stating that the people's government is working with the inspiration of the teachings of Jesus Christ, CM Revanth Reddy said the government was implementing all welfare schemes despite all odds. He said, "We are providing Indiramma Houses to the poor, free RTC travel for women, 200 units of free electricity to 50 lakh poor families, etc. It was the Congress government that brought the Food Security Act and provided fine rice to 3.10 crore poor people in the state."

Furthermore, the CM said the government waived farm loans and provided a Rs 500 bonus to poor farmers. The Chief Minister recalled that the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru, placed importance on the education and irrigation sectors. Christian missionaries prioritised education and medical care and provided them to the poor. The missionaries competed with the government in their dedication to providing education and medical services to the poor.
According to the release, CM Revanth Reddy reiterated that the state would move forward in accordance with the recently released Telangana Rising 2047 vision document and make Telangana number one in the country in the development and welfare sectors. (ANI)
