Telangana: 99% enumeration forms distributed under SIR; draft electoral roll to be published July 30

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], July 11 (ANI): The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Telangana has reached the final stage of enumeration form distribution, with 99 per cent of the forms already distributed, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) C Sudharshan Reddy.
The CEO said 28 per cent of the enumeration forms have been received so far, while the remaining forms will be collected by July 24, after which the draft electoral roll will be published on July 30.
Speaking to ANI on Friday, Reddy said, "If you look at the SIR process in the state of Telangana, the distribution of enumeration forms has almost been completed. It is 99% complete. Since the enumeration forms have now reached a large section of the public, people have to fill them out and submit them."
He further informed that "The process of filling out and submitting the enumeration forms will continue until the 24th of this month. So far, 28% of the forms have been received."
"The remaining forms will be collected over the next 15 days, and by the 24th, this enumeration phase will come to an end. After that, the draft will be published on the 30th of July, following which the notice period and other related processes will take place," Reddy added.
The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Telangana officially commenced on June 15 with the digital mapping phase, followed by the door-to-door enumeration drive from June 25. The exercise is aimed at updating and verifying the state's electoral rolls ahead of future elections.
Meanwhile, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader Soma Bharath Kumar on Friday urged the Election Commission to extend the ongoing SIR exercise by one month, claiming that Telangana has around 20 lakh duplicate voter registrations and that it would not be possible to complete the house-to-house enumeration within the remaining time.
Speaking after a meeting with Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, Bharath Kumar described the issue of duplicate voter registrations as serious and reiterated the party's demand for "one citizen, one vote" across the country. (ANI)
