Gaya (Bihar) [India], August 24 (ANI): Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha on Saturday criticised Tejashwi Yadav, leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal, for not speaking out against attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh.
Sinha attributed Yadav's silence to "appeasement politics" and questioned his ability to be a responsible social leader.
Hitting out the RJD leader, the Deputy CM said, "Tejashwi Yadav did not react to the atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh due to the appeasement politics. He was not able to see the shops being looted, and houses and buildings being burnt...Such people can never be social beings..."
The Deputy CM also offered his prayers at Vishnupad Temple in Gaya. During his interaction with journalists outside the temple, Sinha also responded to Yadav's comments on police officer transfers, encouraging him to fulfill his duties as Leader of the Opposition beyond just tweeting.
"When I was LoP, I used to inform the government about the ground reality and the flaws of the government...The government doesn't run through tweets. But Tejashwi Yadav ji is always tweeting while sitting in Delhi, or Singapore, or Patna. You can't run a government with just tweets", added the Deputy CM.
Sinha further added that if evidence of wrongdoing in police transfers is presented, the government would investigate accordingly.
"If there is anyone who is involved in transfer postings then he should come up with the proof. The government will take the matter into its cognisance. But just making bogus allegations will not help...If there is any flaw then the opposition is also a part of the government. They can make us aware," said Sinha. (ANI)
