IIT Guwahati leads a collaboration between Northeast India and Japan to strengthen academic and industry ties. IIT Guwahati conducted the Japan-Northeast Academia Industry Cooperation Symposium 2026 (JNTCS) on March 9 and 10, in partnership with Gifu University, Japan.

Metropolitan President Anand Dwivedi stated that the Defence Minister will arrive at Lucknow Airport on March 12th at approximately 8:00 p.m. After departing from the airport, he will attend a family wedding ceremony at 8:30 p.m. and will then spend the night at 5-A, Kalidas Marg.

According to a statement issued by Tiruchirappalli District Collector V Saravanan, the restriction has been imposed as a security measure. The order prohibits the flying of drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles throughout the district for the entire day on March 11.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday hailed the new facility dedicated to UAVs and robotics, inaugurated by Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited, stating that it will strengthen the defence sector.

Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited on Saturday announced an investment of over Rs. 12,800 crore in projects related to the manufacturing of robots, UAVs of different sizes and types, along with long-range missiles.

The Chief Minister was speaking after inaugurating the new building of the Panur Fire Station online. The service has all the latest equipment such as underwater drones, robo fire fighters, fire tenders, and advanced rescue tenders. A comprehensive change was made in the department after the 2018 floods.

During his address, Prof Jalihal said, "IIT Guwahati currently hosts more than 10 honorary professors from Japan. Additionally, the institute has seen a significant surge in mobility, with over 70 Japanese students participating in exchange or joint degree programs within the last two years alone."
