Tiruvarur (Tamil Nadu) [India], November 5 (ANI): A special puja was held at the Sri Dharma Sastha Sri Sevaka Perumaal Temple in Kamala Harris' ancestral village in Tiruvarur district on Tuesday morning for her victory in the US Presidential elections.

Visuals from the temple show the priest offering puja and distributing prasadam to the devotees after the special puja.
Supporters of Kamala Harris from the US also arrived at Kamala Harris' ancestral village 'Thulasendrapuram' to attend the special puja.
Thulasendrapuram village happens to be the birthplace of Harris' maternal grandfather, PV Gopalan.

Speaking to ANI, Sherin Shivlinga from Las Vegas, Nevada said, "I have come to see the village where Kamala Harris's grandparents were born and raised. We are waiting for the results of the election, we are nervous, we want her to win so badly."

The three supporters from the US donned similar shirts with the slogan "Kamala Freakin Harris' to cheer for their favourite candidate.

Meanwhile, another puja was organised by Anushanath's Anukragni organisation in the 'Thulasendrapuram' village in Tiruvarur for Kamala Harris.
The organisation's founder, Ballu, affirmed hope that Vice President Harris will win the upcoming elections.
"Kamala Harris is going to contest the US Presidential elections. She will definitely win the elections. We have organised a special puja for her victory. If she wins the polls, it will be a very happy occasion for the whole state," he said.
Earlier, an 11-day-long Maha Yagnam was conducted in Telangana for the victory of Kamala Harris in the US Presidential Elections.
Vice President Kamala Harris, who has her roots in India, gradually progressed through the political hierarchy in the US.
She is the first female, first black, and first Asian American vice president. If elected president, the 60-year-old Harris would become the first woman in history to become the US president. The vice president is only the second woman ever nominated for the presidency by a major political party.
Her mother, Shyamala Gopalan, was Indian and her father, Donald Harris, was Jamaican; both immigrated to the United States. She was born in Oakland, California, and attended a historically black university, Howard University, in Washington.
Harris was nominated as the Democratic nominee after President Joe Biden quit the presidential race amid mounting concerns over his age, particularly after his poor show in the debate with Donald Trump in June.
The United States presidential elections have commenced in the US on Tuesday. The first ballot has been cast in New Hampshire's small township of Dixville Notch, a township located along the US-Canada border. (ANI)
