Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], March 30 (ANI): Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK chief MK Stalin on Saturday slammed PMK founder S Ramadoss for aligning with the BJP.
The Chief Minister said that it baffles people how Ramadoss, an advocate of social justice, could join hands with BJP.
"Both parties have divergent ideologies. BJP would not accept even a single policy of the PMK. Cadres of PMK are suffering in silence because of the alliance," Stalin said.
"Ramadoss, who asked for a cast-based census, surrendered to the BJP, which is against social justice," he added.
Speaking at an election meeting held in Thadangam in support of party's Dharmapuri candidate A Mani and Krishnagiri Congress candidate K Gopinath, the CM said that to ensure that social justice thrives in India, democracy must be protected.
"BJP is a party that would bury the ideologies of social justice and instill divisions based on religion and caste. We Tamils must uphold social justice and prevent the BJP from coming to power," he said.
CM Stalin slammed the PMK for supporting farm laws and the Citizenship Amendment Act.
"PMK was in favour of voting in support of the law against farmers, the Citizenship Amendment Act, which is against Sri Lankan Tamils. Why has it not put pressure on conducting a cast-based census? That's why their own party cadres don't accept the alliance ( between PMK and BJP ) and head down out of shame," he said.
Meanwhile, He attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for "pushing Hindi over Tamil" and accused him of "hypocrisy".
He also questioned why the Prime Minister, who used to speak English during earlier trips to Tamil Nadu, had now switched to Hindi.
"Yesterday evening, Modi said he regretted not knowing how to speak Tamil. Yesterday's news also said that from here onwards, the beautiful Tamil word 'Vanoli' will be changed to the Hindi word 'Akashavani'. Even Modi's eyes won't believe his tears. So how will the Tamil people believe it? What kind of Tamil affection is it when you are poking your one eye and shedding tears from the other?," Stalin posted on X. (ANI)
