Tamil Nadu BJP chief Annamalai slams DMK govt for "rise in goondaism and corruption"

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], November 14 (ANI): Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai slammed the DMK government for not arresting the people behind the attack in Tirumangalam, Chennai despite a complaint from the eatery owner.
K Annamalai posted a video of CCTV footage in which people are seen beating an eatery manager in Tirumangalam, Chennai.
The incident took place on Monday night when a group of rowdies entered the eatery and demanded protection money from him. The manager refused to pay, and the rowdies started beating him. He was severely injured and had to be hospitalized.
"Petrol bombs, broad daylight murders under the influence of alcohol & drugs, unsafe streets for women and a rise in goondaism are the successes of the Corrupt DMK govt. In Tirumangalam, Chennai, rowdies have beaten up an eatery manager for refusing to pay protection money," K Annamlai posted on X.
He also alleged that the police department has not arrested the people behind the attack despite a complaint from the eatery owner, leaving one to assume that the State government wishes people to adapt to an unsafe neighbourhood.

Meanwhile, Tiruchirappalli Police on Tuesday arrested 10 persons under various IPC sections and under the Motor Vehicles Act for performing dangerous stunts and bursting firecrackers while riding motorcycles.
Trichy SP Varun Kumar said, "Trichy District police arrested 10 persons under various IPC sections and under the Motor Vehicles Act, for performing stunts on the road which posed a threat to pedestrians."
In a shocking incident that could have turned out to be fatal, a group of bikers were seen performing stunts and bursting firecrackers while riding motorcycles in Tiruchirappalli to celebrate Diwali on Saturday night. (ANI)
