Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh) [India], April 21 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav took a holy dip in the Shipra river, performed Shramdaan, and worshipped at Ram Ghat in Ujjain district on Monday.

Along with this, CM Yadav also felicitated the Safai mitras on the occasion and urged people to take care of the water resources, keep them clean and conserve them.

"Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan is underway from March 30 to June 30. Madhya Pradesh is the motherland of rivers... All of us are making efforts to ensure that the forest and water wealth of Madhya Pradesh is not only limited to the state. Narmada river also reaches Gujarat and Rajasthan. Similarly Ken Betwa covers Uttar Pradesh and it further joins with Ganga and Yamuna and flows across the nation. Som river passes through Chhattisgarh and Tapti flows towards Maharashtra. In such a situation, taking care of our water resources, we should increase the groundwater capacity and raise awareness about water," CM Yadav told reporters.
He further added, "I appeal to everyone that water is very important in our life, so we should all take care of water resources, take care of cleanliness, and move side by side with the state government in the conservation of the water resources."
Additionally, in a post on X, CM Yadav said that he took a holy dip in the Shipra River at Ram Ghat in Ujjain and had an opportunity to offer prayers on the occasion.
He prayed that Maa Shipra's blessings be on the state's residents and that they should be happy, peaceful, and prosperous. He also initiated a culture of water conservation among everyone.
In another post, the CM wrote, "Today, I participated in the cleanliness work under the 'Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan' with Safai Mitras at Ram Ghat in Ujjain, and felicitated the Safai Mitras. With the blessings of Shipra maa, all the works of cleanliness, development and public welfare are going on. I wish that the resolution of water conservation should also be fulfilled. We all know that water is the basic foundation of our life, its conservation is our duty. Come, let us all together clean and conserve the water resources." (ANI)
