Assandh (Haryana) [India], September 26 (ANI): Rahul Gandhi on Thursday campaigned in Assandh, Karnal for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections. Taking on the centre and state governments the Lok Sabha LoP claimed that the Haryana government has destroyed the employment system in the state.
"Narendra Modi and the Haryana government have destroyed the employment system. Those children have gone abroad and will not return for ten years, they have gotten in an accident there and can't walk anymore. What does Modi do? He gave away the farmland you have to Adani. The loans of Haryana farmers will not be waived off but he waived off the loans of capitalists," Rahul Gandhi said.
During his speech, he recalled meeting young men from Haryana during his visit to Texas, USA and asking them about the living conditions in after they reached USA.
"A few days ago I went to America. I met young men from Haryana in my program in Texas. I saw the video from there. Do you want to understand Haryana today? In that video I was told that 15-20 thousand people from Haryana are going to America. Then I met your brothers. 15-20 people sleep in one room," said the Congress leader.
He added that while talking to the people, he was told the people reached USA through many countries, while the people also saw some people dying.
"I asked how did you go? He said that we reached America through many countries, through jungles. We were caught there. He told the story of the way that Rahul was robbed by the mafia once. He saw his brothers dying after coming out of the sea and coming out of the mountains. You are not rich people; you have paid 35 lakh rupees for this journey. Most of them said that they have sold their farm. Someone has taken it on interest," he said.
He further also promised to the people that if Congress comes to power in the state, they would be providing gas for Rs 500, provide 2 lakh jobs to the people, and give an MSP guarantee to farmers.
"For Mahila Shakti (women empowerment), we will be giving Rs 500 gas every month, we will give two lakh jobs to the youth. MSP guarantee to the farmer and insurance money as soon as the crop is destroyed and houses for the poor. The BJP people have ruined the constitution that gives rights to the weaker sections of India," he added.
He further said that it is important to conduct a caste census across the country, claiming that most of the institutions have been given to RSS cadres, and that no marginalised section is present wherever RSS is present.
"All the institutions have been handed over to the RSS people. You will not find any Dalit, backward or tribal in any institution where RSS people are present. The Election Commission has filled the bureaucracy with their own people. That is why caste census is necessary for them," he added. (ANI)
