Subramanian Swamy

New Delhi [India], July 19 (ANI): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy on Thursday wrote a letter to Telengana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao stating that he will move to court seeking damages if the latter does not cancel an order externing Swami Paripoornananda from Hyderabad.
Swamy in his letter noted that, "I wonder whether the externing authority who has passed the said order has even read Section 3 of the aforesaid Act. On the perusal of the above mentioned section it came to my knowledge that it reads as 'Externment of Goondas'."
"It is pertinent to note that a person in order to be externed under this section needs to be classified as a Goonda. Externing Swami ji under this section gives an impression of him being a Goonda, which is highly insulting, disrespectful and defamatory for a Sanyasi who has such a good reputation and respect in the eyes of the people of Telangana State," the letter further read.
Paripoornananda was externed on July 10 from the city for six months for allegedly making provocative speeches targeting other communities and their leaders.
"The order appears to be arbitrary and it seems that the authorities are flouting the highest law of the land. Therefore, It is my humble advice to you that you get these orders cancelled else, I will be compelled to take an action in the court and seek damages for the same," Swamy stated. (ANI)
