Swamy on TN political crisis: Chidambaram is used to steal others' views

New Delhi [India] Sept 19 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy on Tuesday accused former finance minister P Chidambaram of stealing his ideas on the issue of eighteen MLAs disqualified by the Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker P Dhanapal.

Criticising Chidambaram for stealing his views by reiterating his thoughts, Swamy said, "He does not have his own views, he steals others' views, others' money that is his work. He is used to steal others' wealth and my wealth is my ideas".

In a tweet, P Chidambaram accused the Tamil Nadu Assembly speaker of 'blatant partisan' and of 'manufacturing majority' by disqualifying the eighteen dissident MLAs.

"18 MLAs disqualified to manufacture a majority for paralysed TN Govt. TN is theatre of the absurd," he tweeted.

Further accusing Chidambaram, Swamy said that former finance minister should develop a culture of owing the source of his ideas.

Swamy had said that a "typical cinema culture has been prevailed in Tamil Nadu". He also said that this is a "blatant violation of the Constitution by Speaker".

The Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker had on Monday disqualified 18 All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) MLAs, who had been backing TTV Dinakaran, sidelined AIADMK leader.

The MLAs have been disqualified with effect from Monday, under the 1986 Tamil Nadu Assembly Members Party Defection Law.

The Dinakaran faction had earlier met the officials from the Election Commission and requested them to declare the recently-conducted general council meeting of the party null and void. (ANI)
