String of dog bite cases spur in Moradabad district of UP

Moradabad (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Feb 7 (ANI): Hundreds of cases of dog bites have been reported from Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh in the past few days.
Dr Shakeel Ahmad, Physician, District Hospital, Moradabad said, “Almost 100 cases are coming on a daily basis. Most of these are of dog bites, some of the Monkey bites and rarely also of being bitten by cats. This is the season of breeding for dogs and every locality has many puppies. People play with these puppies and get injured due to dog bites. We have all the facilities available for treating these patients."
He also informed that reports of injections being given to patients injured due to animal bites are also being sent to the district administration for the record.
One of the patients named Azeem who was injured due to dog byte said, "I was walking on the road when a dog came from the back and bit me in the leg. A lot of people are facing this issue and some action must be taken." (ANI)
