"Strict legal action should be taken against criminals involved in anti-national activities": Uttarakhand ADGP

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], January 24 (ANI): The Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order, AP Anshuman, said that strict legal action should be taken against criminals involved in anti-national activities, an official statement said.
"State's Additional Director General of Police, Law & Order, AP Anshuman, has instructed the police officers to collect information through informers and technically against the criminals involved in anti-national activities who, while living abroad, are involved in crimes like extortion, murder, etc. in the state of Uttarakhand.
Quoting ADG Anshuman, the statement said, "Strict legal action should be taken against them".
It added that the ADG has also instructed that all the criminals detained in jails will be kept under a vigilant eye by the STF team.
"STF will maintain coordination with the local police and local intelligence unit so that information can be exchanged regarding the criminals residing in the respective police station areas," ADG further added.
The Director General of Police directed the officers to maintain coordination with the jail superintendents by keeping a vigilant eye on the activities of the notorious criminals detained in the jails to effectively curb the gangs and crimes being operated from the jails, it added.
"He also directed to keep a vigilant eye on all the persons coming to meet the criminals so that any unavoidable incident can be prevented from happening," ADG said, as per the statement.
ADG Anshuman also directed that to prevent wildlife crimes, special monitoring should be done by coordinating with the forest department, local police, and local intelligence unit so that crimes related to forest crimes can be curbed and wildlife smugglers can be stopped, as per the statement.
"The informer system should be activated to collect information regarding the old and new gangs," he added. (ANI)
