Stop giving wrong facts on Netaji's death: TMC to Center

New Delhi [India], January 23 (ANI): The All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Tuesday said that the Center should stop misleading people on facts about Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's death.

Speaking to ANI, TMC leader Sukhendu Sekhar Roy said "No government till now has been able to prove Netaji's aircraft crashed or he died there. From last 73 years, governments have misled the people. The government should stop giving wrong facts".

"We want files regarding Netaji to be out, especially the Defence Ministry book presented in 1949-50, which has not been published yet, which said that Netaji's aircraft did not meet with an accident, he didn't die and left alive for some other place," he added.

Sekhar's statement comes after reports of Parliament Secretariat pamphlet stating Subhash Chandra Bose's aircraft crashed in 1945.

Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee slammed the Centre for not declassifying all files related to Subhash Chandra Bose on his 121st birthday and not declaring it as a national holiday. She said the national leader is yet to get his due honours.

Earlier in the day, President Ram Nath Kovind and other political leaders paid tribute to Netaji on his 121st birth anniversary. (ANI)
