Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], May 8 (ANI): BJP leader C R Kesavan on Wednesday slammed the Congress party over its reaction to Operation Sindoor, describing the opposition's remarks as disrespectful to the armed forces and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
He referred to recent comments by Congress leaders Raashid Alvi and Jignesh Mevani, stating that their remarks undermined the morale of the armed forces and disrespected national security efforts.
Kesavan said, "Even at this juncture, the Congress party stooped to its lowest nether... Today, Raashid Alvi demanded proof for Operation Sindoor, and Jignesh Mevani maligned the army using terms like warmongering and fake nationalism."
He added, "The Congress party's reprehensible behaviour will never be forgotten nor forgiven by the people."
Kesavan also said, "Operation Sindoor is a true testimony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's unbending resolve to protect national interests and our people, and also symbolises the unparalleled sacrifice and dedication of our brave armed personnel."
Kesavan's response came after Congress leader Rashid Alvi on Wednesday raised questions on Operation Sindoor by asking if every terrorist had been killed in the operation. He stated that if this has happened, then it's "good".
Alvi said that whatever the Indian government had asked the Army, they did it.
"Much better reply needs to be given, this is bare minimum. Our forces did what the government of India told them to do, but the question again arises. Was every single terrorist killed? Will there not be another Pahalgam? PM Modi had said that the remaining land of terrorists will be destroyed...if that has happened, then it is good", Rashid Alvi told ANI.
The Indian Armed Forces successfully struck nine terror targets using special precision munitions in a coordinated operation called Operation Sindoor, destroying four in Pakistan, including Bahawalpur, Muridke, and Sialkot, and five in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), sources told ANI.
The Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force jointly carried out the operation, mobilising assets and troops. Prime Minister Narendra Modi constantly monitored Operation Sindoor throughout the night, sources confirmed to ANI.
The strikes on all nine targets were successful, sources further revealed. The Indian forces selected the locations to target top Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) leaders involved in sponsoring terrorist activities in India. (ANI)
