"Start shopping more and more from Sept 22": Amit Shah urges citizens to promote Swadeshi

Shah said, "People of Delhi, Diwali and Navratri will be coming soon. Everything you use will now have a GST rate of 0% and 5%, instead of the previous rates of 28% and 18%. I want to tell the mothers and sisters of Delhi that they should be more dominant at home and start shopping more from 22 September... Shop freely, but only buy things made in India, not outside. The time has come for every citizen of India to take a pledge to buy only what is made in our country. Promoting Swadeshi should become our nature. Only then will the resolution of a prosperous India be fulfilled."

New Delhi [India], September 17 (ANI): As the next-gen reforms in the GST are set to be implemented on September 22, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday called on citizens to promote and support Made in India products.
Speaking at an event in Delhi, Shah encouraged citizens to take a pledge to buy only products made in India, highlighting the need to reduce dependence on foreign goods.
The 56th GST council meeting has decided to rationalise GST rates to two slabs of 5 per cent and 18 per cent by merging the 12 per cent and 28 per cent rates.
Highlighting the government's efforts in improving waste management in Delhi, Union Minister Shah stated that the Narela Bawana Phase 2 Energy Plant will process 3,000 tons of waste daily and generate green energy and the Okhla plant will also generate electricity using 2,000 metric tons of waste, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable Delhi.
"The massive mountains of garbage force people of Delhi to look down in front of the world. Today, the Narela Bawana Phase 2 Energy Plant has been established to process 3,000 tons of waste daily. The Okhla plant will also be able to generate electricity using 2,000 metric tons of waste. This will boost the circular economy, generate green energy, and pave the way for a clean Delhi... The garbage heaps taller than the Qutub Minar will vanish in no time..." Shah stated.
Shah hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 75th birthday, crediting him with transforming the lives of 140 crore Indians through security, development, and welfare initiatives.
He further said that the Prime Minister had never discriminated between states ruled by the BJP or opposition parties.
"Rekha Gupta was just saying that PM Modi has never discriminated between the BJP government or any other government. He's given Delhi more than it deserved, even when Arvind Kejriwal's government was here... PM Modi considers 140 crore people his family and dedicated his entire life to their welfare. Securing the nation, developing it economically, bringing new energy, enthusiasm, and convenience to every poor person's home, and instilling the resolve of a great India in every child's mind, PM Modi has accomplished all this in his 11 years. The country will long remember these accomplishments of PM Modi..." the Union Minister said. (ANI)
