Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], Apr 28 (ANI): In the wake of serial bomb blasts in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday, a candlelight march was organised on Sunday in Ahmedabad to show solidarity with the victims of the deadliest attack.
Eight blasts ripped through three churches and three high-end hotels across the Island nation, claiming the lives of 253 and injuring over 500 others. The Islamic State had claimed responsibility for the attacks.
Father Rajeev Chakra Narayan said: "We need peace around the world. These terrorists do not believe in religion and believe in their hidden agenda only. We are giving them a message that whatever action you had done, it is not going to affect us. We will keep humanity united through peace and non-violence."
Following the multiple terror attacks, India issued a travel advisory on Saturday, urging citizens against undertaking non-essential travel to the neighbouring nation.
"What happened on Easter Sunday is a very bad thing. They gathered to worship, the attack on them is very inhumane. Today, we are here just to tell the world that let us pray for the peace," Father Titis D'costa said. (ANI)
