"Special Olympics is working to bring happiness to children's lives": BJP MP Manoj Tiwari

On the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Manoj Tiwari and Special Olympics Bharat Chairperson Mallika Nadda participated in an art and culture workshop on Tuesday to recognise the achievements and efforts of persons with disabilities across the country.

New Delhi [India], December 3 (ANI): On the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Manoj Tiwari and Special Olympics Bharat Chairperson Mallika Nadda participated in an art and culture workshop on Tuesday to recognise the achievements and efforts of persons with disabilities across the country.
Following the program, MP Manoj Tiwari also highlighted the significant role of Special Olympics in bringing happiness to the lives of children with disabilities.
"This program is very unique and Special Olympics India President Mallika Nadda is constantly organizing such programs, whether it is about sports, or painting ability or organising adventure walks too," Tiwari said.
He also acknowledged that along with the efforts of the Special Olympics, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been working with the mindset of giving people a separate platform to showcase their abilities.
"There is no doubt that child with special needs also thinks differently, but Special Olympics is working to bring happiness in the lives of these children is unique too. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also thinks that every person in the country should think about special children and give them a separate platform," Tiwari added.
Reaffirming the government's commitment to supporting persons and children with disabilities, he said that the government will be working to bring their talents forward too.
He also highlighted how the National Gallery of Modern Art has also been continuously supporting them in showcasing their art.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi reiterated his government's dedication to preserving the honour and self-respect of persons with disabilities.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi expressed that the policies and decisions they made for persons with disabilities in the last 10 years are direct proof of their commitment.
"Our government is committed to upholding the honour and self-respect of our Divyang brothers and sisters across the country. The policies and decisions we have made for them in the last 10 years are direct proof of this," he wrote.
The Prime Minister also shared a blog on this occasion to pay tribute to the courage, self-confidence and achievements of the disabled.
"Today is an important day, December 3. The whole world celebrates this day as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Today is a special occasion to pay tribute to the courage, self-confidence and achievements of the disabled. This occasion is like a holy day for India. Respect for the disabled is rooted in the ideology of India. In our scriptures and folk texts, we can see a sense of respect for our disabled friends," PM Modi said. (ANI)
