New Delhi [India], April 27 (ANI): Special ambulances are being prepared in Delhi's RML Hospital, which will be deployed at the venue of election rallies and meetings to take patients suffering from heatstroke immediately to the hospital.
Dr Ajay Shukla, Director and Medical Superintendent said that the heat is increasing and they making all efforts to give the best possible treatment to patients with heat stroke
"Heat is increasing, we are making all the preparations to give the best possible treatment to patients of heat stroke. Ambulances will be equipped so that they can reach the patients on the field and can give the treatment on the spot and while being taken to hospital...," Ajay Shukla told ANI.
He further said that these ambulances would have special facilities. Ice and AC arrangements and water tubs will also be kept in these ambulances to provide immediate relief from the heat.

"A ward is also being prepared in the emergency of the hospital. A specific area is being designated for heat-affected patients in the emergency patients. Where patients suffering from heat will be treated. There too, facilities for water tubs and ice, etc. will be available. We will also provide an immersion technique to cool down the patient," he added.

"In the immersion technique, there should be a tub, and in that, we should put ice and water so that the temperature is 0 or 5 degrees Celsius. Then the patient is immersed in water. If the temperature of the tub is correct then the cooling of the patient's body will recover from the heat stroke," he explains the immersion technique.

Indian Meteorological Department's (IMD) scientist, Soma Sen Roy, has said that the chances of heatwave conditions in North India are less likely to happen amidst an increase in thunderstorm activities.
Speaking with ANI, Soma Sen Roy said, "Yesterday (April 26), we observed thunderstorm activities, especially in North-West India... There have been quite strong winds blowing. In states like Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan, we witnessed hailstorm activities."
The scientist explained that due to these thunderstorm activities, the chances of heatwave conditions are less likely to happen. "Due to these thunderstorm activities, there is a drop in temperature and there can be a decrease of 4 degrees to 5 degree Celsius and therefore, the chances of heatwave conditions in North India are less likely to happen," she said
