"Speaker didn't allow us to speak, CM abused the opposition": BRS MLAs on walking out from Telangana Legislative Assembly session

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], January 2 (ANI): Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) MLAs on Friday staged a walkout from the Telangan Legislative Assembly. Party leader Palla Rajeshwar Reddy alleged that they "weren't given a chance to speak" and the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy "abused the opposition leaders."
Speaking to ANI, the MLA said that they are boycotting the assembly session due to alleged disrespect.
"We walked out due to not being given a chance to speak or respond to the CM's comments, who is abusing the opposition leaders and also unnecessarily commenting on unnecessary issues... Since he has not given us a chance, we have come out, and we spoke about whatever we wanted. We are boycotting the session because he will not give us a chance in the future either... He is allowing whatever the CM is speaking, and we can't do that...," Reddy said.
BRS MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav accused the speaker of the assembly, Gaddam Prasad Kumar, of allowing no one but the Chief Minister to address the assembly, attributing this as their reason for staging the walkout.
"They are thinking of it as the office of the Congress party... When everyone, along with our leaders, expressed their doubts, they ended the discussion without giving the chance to opposition... The speaker does not even look towards us; he only listens to what the CM and his party people say. That is why we came out protesting...," Yadav told ANI.
On December 18,BRS leader Krishank had criticised the Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar for dismissing disqualification petitions against five defected BRS MLAS, saying that this is the "murder of the constitution" and a "mockery of democracy."
"In Telangana, where Congress is in power, it's absolutely a murder of the constitution and a mockery of democracy... Today the speaker says that he has no evidence against the defected MLAs. It is really a joke..." he said.
Speaking to ANI, he slammed the Congress party, stating that it is a matter of shame the way Congress preaches across the nation but fails to practice when in power.
"It is really shameful that the Congress party, which preaches across India, does not practice when it is in power... Tomorrow it will really be a test for the speaker because one particular defective MLA has contested in the Lok Sabha elections in 2024 as the Congress Party candidate..." he added.
Earlier, Kumar, who is acting as the Chairman of the Tribunal under the Tenth Schedule of the Constitution, dismissed disqualification petitions filed against five Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) after examining their merits. (ANI)
