New Delhi [India], November 29 (ANI): Samajwadi Party MP Zia Ur Rehman on Friday said that the party had been demanding that the probe committee should comprise of the sitting Supreme Court Judge in the Sambhal stone pelting incident.
Speaking to ANI, Rehman said "SP has been demanding that the probe committee should comprise the sitting Supreme Court's judge. We have approached the Supreme Court demanding that the case regarding the survey which is in the district court should be stopped and the case should be heard in the Supreme court..."
Further, he said that the place of worship act should be used properly.
"The Place of Worship Act should be used properly. A petition has also been filed over the Ajmer dargah as well. When will this stop?.. Saying that Babar Sahab broke the temple and built the mosque is wrong. There was already a mosque there since a very long time... Why are a few selected people being given a chance to disturb the atmosphere?" he added.
UP Dy CM Brajesh Pathak said, "We respect the Supreme Court order and work accordingly. We will not let anyone take the law into their hands, maintain law and order and conduct an unbiased investigation."
Meanwhile, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Muniraj G said that the Friday prayers would take place peacefully and a three-tier security scheme had been implemented to maintain proper security.

"The Friday prayers will happen peacefully and for that, we have made all necessary arrangements. A three-tier security scheme has been implemented; the PSC and RAF have also been deployed. Drones and barricades have also been put to keep a check and CCTV cameras have also been installed," the DIG said.
Earlier today, SP leader ST Hasan said that the rumours of the stone-pelting incident should be controlled.
"Rumours should be controlled. There is a rumour in entire Moradabad that namaz would not be offered in the Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal. Namaz will be offered but it will just be done in tight security. There is no need to panic; go to the mosque and pray for peace." Hasan said while speaking to ANI.
The incident took place on November 24 when a stone-pelting incident took place during ASI's examination of the Mughal-era mosque which resulted in the death of four individuals and several others were injured, including locals and officials. (ANI)
