"SP and democracy are two separate ends of a river": says CM Adityanath; outlines UP government's session agenda

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], August 11 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a sharp attack on the Samajwadi Party on the first day of the Uttar Pradesh assembly session, saying, "SP and democracy are two separate ends of a river."
While addressing the House, CM Yogi said, "Samajwadi Party and Democracy are two separate ends of a river. When did they start having faith in democracy? Talking about democracy doesn't suit them. Everyone knows what they did in Sambhal."
Citing examples from across the state, he added, "Be it Sambhal, Bahraich or Gorakhpur, everyone knows about the misdeeds of SP. They did not do anything during their tenure. If the NDA government wants to bring about development, then you (Samajwadi Party) are feeling bad....We are working with the traders from all over the state. During the SP regime, the goonda tax was levied on the traders."
Continuing his criticism, the Chief Minister said, "Due to this, the traders are angry with you, and the Samajwadi Party has to bear the brunt of it again and again. Instead of taking steps for the development of the traders, they (Samajwadi Party) have only created obstacles in their path. It cannot be expected from the Samajwadi Party that they will talk about security and support good development..."
CM Yogi criticised SP chief Akhilesh Yadav's remarks on running the UP Assembly for 24 hours before the session started, and while talking to the media, he said, "This is the commitment of the government and BJP towards development. Development is not on their agenda. When we ran the House for 36 hours on issues related to Sustainable Development Goals, better education, better health facilities, agricultural development, skill development, employment, even then, Samajwadi Party members walked out of the House. Development is not on their agenda..."
While speaking to the media, CM Yogi said that answers to all questions raised by members will be provided during the Question Hour. He welcomed all MLAs to the session, stating, "The Session of the UP Assembly is starting today. I welcome all the members who have come here to attend the session. The UP Assembly is the largest State Assembly in the country. This is a very important session. In this session also, there will be discussions for the 25 crore people of the state..."
The Chief Minister also set out the government's priorities for the Monsoon session, noting, "During this monsoon session, issues related to floods, waterlogging will be discussed. Whatever the government has done in the last 8.5 years on issues related to health, education, and all these issues will also be discussed."
He informed the House that a special 24-hour discussion will be held on August 13-14 to discuss the vision of 'Viksit Bharat' and 'Viksit Uttar Pradesh'.
"After the discussion, we will also announce in the House a detailed action plan on how the government will ensure the participation of the general public as well as citizens of every section in this vision document with the help of experts under the guidance of NITI Aayog and by taking that program forward, the government will put its vision on the table of the House with an action plan for the next 25 years...", he said.
