Southern Railway launches special trains for Lok Sabha elections 2024

In light of the significant Lok Sabha elections 2024, The Southern Railway has started special train services from Chennai Egmore railway station to Tiruchchirappalli and Tiruchchirappalli to Tambaram

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], April 18 (ANI): In view of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the Southern Railway has started special train services from Chennai Egmore railway station to Tiruchchirappalli and Tiruchchirappalli to Tambaram
Notably, Train Number 06031 Chennai Egmore-Tiruchchirappalli MEMU unreserved special will leave Chennai Egmore at 10:05 pm on April 18 and reach and reach Tiruchchirappalli at 6:30 am the next day.
Train Number 06032 Tiruchchirappalli-Tambaram MEMU unreserved special will leave Tiruchchirappalli at 6:30 pm on April 19 and reach Tambaram at 2:45 am the next day.
In addition to this, train services have also been started from Chennai Central Railway Station and Bangalore's Whitefield Railway Station to facilitate voters in reaching their polling stations.
Dr MGR Chennai Whitefield Special will leave Dr MGR Chennai Central at 05.35 am on April 18 and April 20, 2024 (Thursday & Saturday) and reach Whitefiled at 12.00 am, the same day
Dr MGR Chennai Central Special, in return direction Train No. 06006 Whitefield will leave Whitefield at 1pm on April 18 and April 20, 2024 (Thursday & Saturday) and reach Dr MGR Chennai Central at 7pm, the same day.
The 2024 Indian Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu are scheduled for April 19 in the first phase to choose 39 representatives.
The 2024 Indian general election in Karnataka will be held on 26 April 2024, and 7 May 2024, during the second and third phases respectively
The 2024 Indian general election in Andhra Pradesh will be held on 13 May 2024 to elect 25 members of 18th Lok Sabha.[1][2] Legislative assembly to be held simultaneously with the general election.
India is set to hold a general election spanning from April 19, 2024 to June 1, 2024, to elect the 543 members of the 18th Lok Sabha. The election will occur in seven phases, with the announcement of results scheduled for June 4, 2024. (ANI)
