"Soul of India": Rahul Gandhi pays respect to Mahatma Gandhi on his 77th death anniversary

New Delhi [India], January 30 (ANI): Paying his tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his 77th death anniversary, Lok Sabha LOP and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said that he was not just a person rather he is the soul of India, and is alive in every Indian.
Taking to X, Rahul Gandhi said, "Gandhiji is not just a person, he is the soul of India and is alive in every Indian even today. The power of truth, non-violence and fearlessness can shake the roots of even the biggest empire - the entire world takes inspiration from these ideals of his. Hundreds of salutations to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma, our Bapu on his Martyrdom Day."

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar also paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi saying that his supreme sacrifice shall remain etched in the collective memory of the nation forever.
In a social media post on X, Shivakumar wrote, "Tribute to the great revolutionary and Father of our nation Mahatma Gandhi, on his death anniversary. Today, let us also honour our bravehearts who attained martyrdom in the line of duty, shielding the integrity of our motherland. Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 77th death anniversary.
Taking to X, PM Modi said, "Tributes to Pujya Bapu on his Punya Tithi. His ideals motivate us to build a developed India. I also pay tributes to all those martyred for our nation and recall their service as well as sacrifices."
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 77th death anniversary, stating that his ideas of Satya, Ahimsa, Sarvodaya and Sarvadharma Sambhava continue to light our path.
India observes Martyrs' Day every year on January 30 to mark the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and to honour his contribution towards the freedom of the country.
On January 30, 1948, Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated by Nathuram Godse at Gandhi Smriti in Birla's house, months after India's independence. (ANI)
