Six injured in clash between BJP and TMC workers in Asansol

Asansol (West Bengal) [India], Feb 6 (ANI): At least six people got injured in a clash between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) BJP and Trinamool Congress (TMC) TMC workers allegedly over the construction of a BJP office in the area here.

Asansol (West Bengal) [India], Feb 6 (ANI): At least six people got injured in a clash between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) BJP and Trinamool Congress (TMC) TMC workers allegedly over the construction of a BJP office in the area here.
The incident occurred on Wednesday at Anchra area under Salanpur Police Station of Asansol, which is the parliamentary constituency of the Central Minister Babul Supriyo.
"In Barabani, Trinamool MLA is thinking that they will win the coming Assembly elections in 2021 by doing all this but this won't happen. The public is watching everything. This was a planned attack," said Arijit Roy, BJYM, Paschim Bardhaman District president.
BJP workers allege that TMC workers had come to the spot and stopped the work while TMC workers allege BJP hadn't obtained permission from Panchayat for construction.
On the day of the incident, TMC leader, Arman Khan said, "BJP workers attacked Hare Ram Tiwari, the Deputy Principal of our Panchayat after he asked the BJP workers regarding the permission for the inauguration. During the clash TMC workers received injuries."
Later, the activists of both the political party entangled into a fight following which several people including BJP Anchra Block president Pintu Tiwary and others received injuries.
The injured were sent to Asansol District Hospital for the treatment. On receiving the information, police personnel of Salanpur Police Station reached the spot and investigation into the matter is underway.
Earlier the BJP party office here was set ablaze a few days ago allegedly by the TMC workers. (ANI)
