Samastipur (Bihar) [India], November 5 (ANI): At least six people, including five children and a woman, died while taking bath in river Ganga at Hajipur on Sunday.

Six drown while bathing in River Ganga in Bihar

Samastipur (Bihar) [India], November 5 (ANI): At least six people, including five children and a woman, died while taking bath in river Ganga at Hajipur on Sunday.

Three people have been rescued from the spot.

A team of divers has been deployed to locate the missing.

"We have recovered 6 bodies so far. The search for others is underway. State government will provide ex-gratia of Rs 4 Lakh each to the next of the kin killed in the incident," Patna District Magistrate, Sanjay Agarwal told ANI.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, three people were killed after a boat carrying 30 people capsized in Bagmati River of Bihar's Samastipur district.

The reason behind the incident is yet unknown, but preliminary investigation revealed the boat capsized due to overcrowding.

"Three people died, six rescued in boat capsize incident in Samastipur," district magistrate said. (ANI)
