Sitharaman condemns Kharge's "will stay alive till..." remark

Union Finance Minister and BJP leader Nirmala Sitharaman hits out at Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday over his statement, where he linked his health to PM Modi during a speech in Jammu and Kashmi, saying that the Congress leadership never loses any opportunity to display their hate towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

New Delhi [India], September 30 (ANI): Union Finance Minister and BJP leader Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday backed Home Minister Amit Shah in condemning Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge for his remark about staying alive till Prime Minister Narendra Modi is removed from power.
In a post on X, Shah said Kharge's comments show the "hate and fear" the Congress has for Prime Minister Modi.
"Yesterday, the Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge Ji has outperformed himself, his leaders and his party in being absolutely distasteful and disgraceful in his speech. In a bitter display of spite, he unnecessarily dragged PM Modi into his personal health matters by saying that he would die only after removing PM Modi from power," Shah said.
"It just shows how much hate and fear these Congress people have of PM Modi, that they are thinking of him constantly. As for the health of Mr. Kharge Ji, Modi Ji prays, I pray and we all pray that he lives a long, healthy life. May he continue to live for many years and may he live to see the creation of a Viksit Bharat by 2047," the Home Minister said in a post on X.

Kharge had taken unwell while addressing a poll rally on Sunday at Jasrota in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Congress leader Thakur Balbir Singh said that the Congress President felt suffocated due to the extreme heat. After resting for a while, Kharge resumed his speech, reassuring the crowd that his health was fine and saying that he was not going to die so early.

Responding to Union Home Minister Amit Shah's post on X, Nirmala Sitharaman wrote, "Aptly said, HM AmitShah ji. The leadership of INCIndia never loses any opportunity to display their hate towards narendramodi ji. This speech of @kharge ji is one such an instance. We join in praying for the long life of Congress president @kharge ji. We wish he lives to see #ViksitBharat India 2047." (ANI)
