Sindhudurg (Maharashtra) [India], October 29 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party MP Narayan Rane on Tuesday exuded confidence on the Mahayuti alliance's victory in all three constituencies of Sindhudurg district in the Maharashtra Assembly Election.
Referring to Sindudurg as his 'base', Narayan Rane said that they have worked in this district for 35 years.
Mahayuti alliance has fielded BJP's Nitesh Rane from Kankavli, Shiv Sena's Nilesh Rane from Kudal and minister Deepak Kesarkar of Shiv Sena from Sawantwadi assembly constituency.
Speaking to ANI, Narayan Rane said, "There are three Vidhan Sabha constituencies here. We will win all three constituencies. We have worked in this district for 35 years. You can see the development here. So, we brought development to people, increased their per capita income from Rs 35,000 to Rs 2.5 Lakhs."
Further criticising Maha Vikas Aghadi, Rane accused them of "cheating people."
"Name one candidate among them (MVA) who did development work. Cheating people is what they do," Rane added.
Earlier in the day, Deepak Kesarkar filed the nomination from the Sawantwadi assembly constituency. Kesarkar, now part of Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena, was elected MLA from the same constituency in 2019, 2014 and 2009.
Kesarkar said that the state's infrastructure and industries had fallen earlier but the advancement in Maharashtra has happened because of the Mahayuti alliance.
"Farmers get insurance for merely one rupee. Women in households are getting Rs 1,500 and if they are farmers they get Rs 6,000 from the central government. These things are only possible in Mahayuti's government. We had fallen in terms of infrastructure, and industries. However, it is because of Mahayuti the advancement has happened," he said.
On Monday, Nitesh Rane, held a roadshow and filed his nomination for the Kankavli Assembly segment.
He is a two-time incumbent MLA for the Sindhudurg Kankavli Assembly Constituency. His elder brother, Nilesh, former Lok Sabha MP, has recently joined the Shiv Sena and also filed his nomination from the Kudal Assembly segment.
The Maharashtra Assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with counting for all 288 constituencies set for November 23.
In the 2019 assembly elections, the BJP won 105 seats, the Shiv Sena 56, and the Congress 44. In 2014, the BJP secured 122 seats, the Shiv Sena 63, and the Congress 42. (ANI)
