New Delhi [India], October 13(ANI): Delhi minister and AAP leader Gopal Rai targeted Bharatiya Janata Party government in Centre after NCP leader Baba Siddique was shot dead in Maharashtra and claimed that similar incidents are increasing in the national capital.
Siddique, a leader in Ajit Pawar's faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and former Maharashtra minister, was shot at near Nirmal Nagar in Bandra. He later succumbed to his bullet injuries at Lilavati Hospital late Saturday night.
"This incident is tragic. Mumbai is the country's economic capital. Similar incidents are increasing in Delhi for the last 1-2 months. BJP has control over the law and order of both Delhi and Mumbai. I think the Home Minister and the BJP government should take this seriously. The kind of incident that happened in Mumbai has created panic among the people that who is safe today? The Home Minister should take initiative against the new gangsters that are emerging," Gopal Rai said while speaking to ANI.
Earlier, Mumbai police presented the two accused in the Baba Siddique firing case, Gurmail Singh and Dharmraj Singh Kashyap in Mumbai's Esplanade Court.
The court sent Gurmail Singh to the custody of Mumbai Crime Branch till October 21 and directed to present the second accused again after conducting his ossification test, a medical procedure for determining age.
