Union Minister Prakash Javadekar speaking to ANI on Sidhu's Pakistan visit

Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], Nov 28 (ANI): Union Minister for Human Resources and Development (HRD) Prakash Javadekar on Wednesday lambasted Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu for his remarks made in Pakistan claiming that Sidhu praised Imran Khan more than what was due. He further said that Punjab minister should know that this was not a laughter challenge.
Mincing no words in his criticism of Sidhu, Javadekar told ANI: "The most objectionable thing in Sidhu's Pakistan trip is that he referred to various domestic issues which are not done in any diplomatic relations. He is going there and breaching all political and diplomatic norms and criticising and raising issues of Indian domestic politics. He praised Imran Khan more than what was due and praised him to the hilt. When Pakistan is indulging in all kinds of terror activities and cross-border terrorism, one needs to be very cautious about it. It was not merely in enthusiasm or a laughter challenge by Sidhu; this is the Congress policy of doublespeak. Even Mani Shankar Aiyar like diplomat who understands diplomacy went there and talked about removing Modi from power. So this is how Congress behaves and that's why Congress has been delineated from public feelings."
Reacting on Imran Khan's tongue in cheek comment inviting Sidhu to contest from Pakistan, Javadekar said: "Once flattery starts, it never ends. So I don't give much importance to what Imran Khan said. The important thing for India is what Navjot Singh Sidhu as a minister and Congress leader is saying, which is very bad."
On being asked whether he thinks that Congress will take any action on Sidhu, Javadekar said: "Congress will not take any action against Sidhu because this is Congress's deliberate policy of double speak on Pakistan, China and many other issues.
Sidhu in his own mesmerising way on Wednesday heaped praises on Imran Khan while delivering a speech at the groundbreaking ceremony of Kartarpur corridor. (ANI)
