Sidhu insulted 'Virasat-e-Khalsa': SAD President

Ludhiana [Punjab] [India], Feb 14 (ANI): Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal here on Wednesday said Congress minister Navjot Singh Sidhu has insulted 'Virasat-e-Khalsa' by calling them white elephants.

Calling the famous commentator and former cricketer a monkey, Badal while addressing a rally in Ludhiana town of Punjab said Sidhu had insulted the Sikh memorials, which the SAD party had built, by calling them white elephants.

"Does he mean 'Virasat-e-Khalsa', which salutes Sikh history, is a white elephant?" Badal said.

The Punjab Tourism and Culture Minister had last year said Anandpur Sahib's Virasat-e-Khalsa museum on Sikhism set up by the previous Akali government had turned out to be a "white elephant", with the government spending Rs 12 crore annually to maintain it.(ANI)
