Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) [India], October 28 (ANI): Preparations are underway for Ayodhya's grandest Deepotsav, as the newly built Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Temple is lit with colourful lights adding to the splendour of Lord Ram's birth place.

Deepotsav is scheduled for October 30, a day before Diwali.
A laser show was also organised at Ram ki Paidi, Naya Ghat where Ramayan was narrated, adding to the grandeur of the celebrations.

As part of the celebrations, the Animal Husbandry Department has committed to lighting 1.5 lakh cow dung diyas during the Deepotsav. On Monday, Animal Husbandry Minister Dharampal Singh met the Chief Minister Adityanath Yogi and presented cow dung diyas and other cow-based products, marking a significant step in the state's initiatives toward cow conservation and promotion.
Yogi-led government aims to light over 35 lakh diyas in Ayodhya, with 28 lakh diyas illuminating 55 ghats along the Saryu River, setting a new world record. The Chief Minister commended the Animal Husbandry Department's commitment to lighting 1.5 lakh cow dung diyas as part of this grand celebration.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra has announced that devotees can view the temple's splendid decorations from October 29 to November 1, with access available until midnight through Gate No. 4B (Luggage Scanner Point).
This year, Ayodhya will illuminate 55 ghats along the Sarayu River, with over two million lamps ready, as per sources. Preparations for the Deepotsav festival are in full swing, aiming to light over 2.5 million lamps during Diwali.

Ninety-five per cent of the ghat decorations are complete. A special feature of this year's Deepotsav is the participation of 10,000 people, with a viewing gallery under construction at Ram Ki Paidi, set to be ready before the celebrations.
Last year, lamps were lit on 51 ghats; this year, the plan is to illuminate 55.

Diwali is one of the most significant festivals in India and around the world. This vibrant festival, known as the Festival of Lights, signifies the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. As families prepare for the festivities, homes will be adorned with colorful rangoli patterns, illuminated with diyas and fairy lights.
The celebrations typically involve performing prayers to Goddess Lakshmi for prosperity, sharing delicious sweets and snacks, and exchanging gifts with loved ones. Fireworks will light up the night sky, creating a dazzling display that adds to the joyful atmosphere. Diwali 2024 promises to be a time of togetherness, reflection, and celebration, fostering a spirit of unity and hope for the year ahead. (ANI)
