"Should work on promises, instead of imposing agenda": AAP's Priyanka Kakkar slams BJP

"BJP should display optimistic politics. They should work on the promises they made to the people of Delhi instead of imposing their agenda. They said that in the first cabinet meeting, a resolution would be passed that every woman in Delhi would get Rs 2500 per month in her account," Kakkar said.

New Delhi [India], February 21 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar on Friday slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party, questioning its commitment to its promises, particularly the Rs 2,500 financial assistance scheme for Delhi women.
Kakkar alleged that the BJP is "imposing" its agenda instead of focusing on its promises as the ruling party aims to table the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report on February 25 during the first session of the Legislative Assembly.
"BJP should display optimistic politics. They should work on the promises they made to the people of Delhi instead of imposing their agenda. They said that in the first cabinet meeting, a resolution would be passed that every woman in Delhi would get Rs 2500 per month in her account," Kakkar said.
Noting the BJP's lack of initiative in the first cabinet meeting towards their promises, Kakkar reminded them of AAP adhering to their promises in the first meeting when they came to power.
"Delhiites had seen a government which promised half electricity (bill) and free water before coming to power and did that. As soon as the Aam Aadmi Party government came to power, this resolution was passed in the first cabinet meeting," Kakkar said.
She further said that BJP did not fulfil its promises in Haryana and Maharashtra and urged the government to work on it in Delhi.
"Today, we are seeing that the BJP did not fulfil its promises in Haryana and Maharashtra. After winning the elections, the same is being seen in Delhi. I would request BJP to work on people's issues here and not their agenda," Kakkar said.
Notably, Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Vijender Gupta that the CAG report will be tabled on February 25 during the three-day session of the Legislative Assembly.
Speaking with ANI, Vijender Gupta said that tabling of the CAG report is the foremost agenda of the government as decided in the cabinet meeting held on Thursday.
Gupta said the session will be held on February 24, 25 and 27.
As per the procedure, all 70 MLAs of the Delhi Legislative Assembly will take oath on the first day of the session, following which the election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker will be held.
"On 24th Feb, oath (by Members) and election of Speaker and Deputy Speaker will take place. On 25th Feb, CAG report will be tabled before the House" Gupta said.
"After that Speaker and Deputy Speaker will be elected. The first agenda after this is CAG report. The report has already been received by the Speaker's office. So, the first agenda is to table the CAG report and hold a discussion on it after the election of Speaker and Deputy Speaker," Gupta said. (ANI)
