Taking part in the protest staged by Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and other party leaders, he said, "Today on August 24, we called for a Maharashtra Bandh. But the High Court has ordered that we cannot keep the city closed so we agreed to it but we expressed our message to people through the protest".
"We are protesting against the atrocities on women in Maharashtra by donning black bands on the arms" the Shiv Sena leader added.
He further stated, "The law and order of the state should be efficient but this Mahayuti government has failed in it."
He demanded the resignation of the state's Home Minister.
"We demanded that if you are suspending a constable, a senior police officer then the home minister and police commissioner have also some responsibility, when did the home minister will resign" he said.
He said, "This is not just one incident. These kinds of incidents from different parts of Maharashtra have come to the limelight in the last 8 to 9 days".
"The people of Mumbai is out today so that the government could open its ears" he added.
Earlier today, Maharashtra Mahila Morcha BJP President, Chitra Kishor Wagh, lashed out at the Maha Vikas Aghadi over the Badlapur incident where two minor girls were allegedly sexually assaulted at a local school, saying that MVA is doing politics over the incident
Taking part in a protest staged by BJP Mahila Morcha in Mumbai against Maha Vikas Aghadi over the Badlapur incident, she said "The incident that happened in Badlapur is a very sensitive matter. We can understand the mental condition of the victim's families. But, MahaVikas Aghadi is doing politics over the issue. Today, we are here to show the incidents that have taken place during their tenure and to show what they did... This is a conspiracy to malign Maharashtra, but the people will not let them do this. The government is in action mode," Wagh said.
Earlier, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, along with party leaders and workers, staged a protest in Mumbai against the Badlapur incident, where two minor girls were allegedly sexually assaulted at a local school.
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said, "The atrocities that are happening against women and daughters--12 incidents have happened in 10 days. One case is being registered every day under the POCSO Act in Thane. We are protesting against all this.
After Uttar Pradesh, heinous crimes are happening in Maharashtra. Women of Maharashtra are asking about Shakti law."
Earlier, the special investigation team (SIT) for Badlapur sexual assault against minors registered an FIR against the school authorities, for not complying with the provisions of section 19 of the POCSO Act which mandates that every authority when they come to know about any such kind of sexual assault against minors are obligated to report this to police authorities for further action.
