Shimla: 1 dead, 2 injured in rain shelter collapse

Tibetan women-in-exile in the northern Indian hill town of Shimla held a peaceful protest on Wednesday to mark the 67th anniversary of Tibetan Women's National Uprising Day, raising their voices against Chinese rule in Tibet and remembering the sacrifices made by Tibetan women during the historic uprising of 1959.

As per the schedule, the draft proposal for the delimitation of wards will be published on March 12. Residents of the concerned municipal areas can submit objections or suggestions till March 19.

According to representatives of the hotel and tourism sector, the shortage has intensified amid the ongoing crisis in Iran and the wider Middle East, which has disrupted LPG availability across several parts of the country.

Himachal Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu chaired a workshop at IGMC Shimla organised on the occasion of International Women's Day, where women who had performed outstanding work were honoured.

Sibal also criticised the administration for a perceived lack of long-term planning and foresight regarding India's heavy import dependency and potential supply vulnerabilities in the face of geopolitical instability.
