Veteran Journalist Kuldeep Naiyar

New Delhi [India], July 14 (ANI): Veteran journalist Kuldeep Naiyar on Saturday said that the order of the Pakistan Accountability Court with regards to former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Sharif must be implemented.
He said, "Both are being sentenced by Accountability Court of Pakistan, due process of law has taken place. The sentence must be correct and implemented."
Regarding Nawaz Sharif being provided B class facilities in the Adiala jail in Rawalpindi, Naiyar said, "A class is for political prisoners. This is a case of corruption and Sharif is not entitled to A class facilities."
When asked about the implication of conviction of Nawaz Sharif on South Asia, Naiyar said, "This will serve as a warning to all political leaders in South Asia, especially in Pakistan."
The lawyers of Nawaz Sharif and Maryam will file an appeal against the Accountability Court order convicting them in the case.
Sharif's lawyers on Saturday were in Adiala jail in Rawalpindi, where the two have been lodged, to get the legal papers signed by Sharif and Maryam.
Since there was no time to reach court on Saturday, the appeal will now be filed in the court on Monday, the last day for filing the appeal against the order that was delivered on July 6 by the Islamabad Accountability Court.
Sharif was awarded ten years in jail while his daughter got eight years of imprisonment along with others ahead of the general elections in Pakistan on July 25.
The Sharifs are accused of failing to disclose the source of income for the purchase of luxury apartments in London. (ANI)
