Sex CD scandal: Raman Singh questions Opposition's role

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], Oct. 28 (ANI): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh on Saturday questioned Opposition's role in the controversial sex CD scandal allegedly involving state minister Rajesh Munat.

"The first question that needs to be raised: what is the role of Congress is in the entire controversy?" Singh said.

Earlier in the day, Police registered a case against state Congress Committee against president Bhupesh Baghel and journalist Vinod Verma in the case. Verma was arrested on Friday.

Speaking about the hurried arrest of the journalist, Singh said, "People should be happy for the swift action of the police instead of feeling sad about it."

The chief minister also slammed the Congress for protesting Verma's arrest and said truth will soon come out before the nation.

"What is the point of this movement when we have already ordered a forensic probe into the case. The facts will soon come out in front of the nation," Singh said.

Verma was arrested from his residence in Indirapuram in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad for blackmailing an employee of minister Rajesh Munat over his alleged obscene video.

Verma had alleged he is being framed by the state government because of the 'sex CD'. Munat, however, said that the tape was fake and demanded a probe. (ANI)
